Dear Sister M,

How is life treating you today. I am just fine a little wet and muddy, but I am doing O.K.

That was a very good suggestion about the records. But no one here has a record player. Because we are always moving around and everything we own we have to carry on our back. So a record player wouldn't be practical. But thank you anyway.

I am glad to hear you like your new job. I bet you gain a lot of weight working around all that food. It will do you good to meet a lot of people. I don't even see people anymore, only Marines.

We started on a new operation yesterday, and boy was I pissed off. Because it was raining and I was all wet and muddy. We landed on top a mountain (by helecopter) that had just been bombed and it was all muddy and wet and slippery. Everybody was falling down and sliding in the mud. I fell twice and I'm all covered with mud. I even slept in the mud. When I was eating my c rations this morning a piece of mud fell out of my hair into the coffee I was making. Oh yeah that reminds me. If you have enough money could you send me a small jar of coffee and some Instant Cream and a small bottle of Sweet, that liquid sweetener. It sure would help out a lot.

I'll write Karen today if I get a chance. I haven't written Carol but once since I've been here and she hasn't answered meyet. So I don't think I will write her anymore. Brenda hasn't written anymore either so the only people I get letters from are you, Mamam, Aunt Clara and Claire. Claire writes me nearly everyday. so I get at least two or three letters a week. And I really appreciate al of you writing me. It makes me feel better every time I get a letter.

So keep up the good work. Yesterday I got three letters. One from you, Aunt Clara and Claire.  Well I have to go now. Write me soon OK.

Love ya, CC
