July 18, 1968 On Plane

Dear Mom,

I didn't have a chance to write you as soon as I got your last letter because I was getting ready for my trip. I am on the plane now over the Pacific Ocean. We have been traveling since 10 o'clock this morning. It is now 2:15 in the afternoon California time.

Guess what, we stopped over in Anchorage Alaska. The country up there is just beautiful up there. The temperature up there was 50 degrees. There was snow on al lot the Mountains and down in the Valleys it was all green and grassy.

We will be landing in Okanawa in about three hours, I don't know how long I will be there before we leave for DaNang.

Yes I got the pictures you sent me and I am very thankful for them. Than you very much.

Is Steve going to have to wear glasses all of the time or will his eyes get better after awhile?

Did you know that Claire had gotten run over by a car? She has a fractured leg and a big cut on the other leg and a knot on her head. She can't walk either. I sure hope she will get better soon.

Well I can't think of anything else to write you so I guess I'll go now. You can answer this letter as soon as you get it then when you get my address all you have to do is put it on the letter and mail it to me. OK

Love your son,

CC
