Dear M,
Yesterday I received your letter and I was very glad to hear from you.
Thank you for going through all that trouble with calling Carol for me. I really appreciate it. Maybe someday we can work it out like you say. I sure hope so. AOh well, that's that.
I sent Mother a check yesterday for $30. I told her to give you $25 of it and the other $5 to daddy and would send him the rest of the money I owe him next month.
The weather over here is real nice, it rains everyday. I eat drink and sleep in mud and I am wet more than half the time. I guess I will used to it after awhile. Like 12 months and 9 days from now, that's when I come back home. If ther's a little mud on the letter, that's because I have mud on my hands.
When you write me could you please put a little perfume on the paper so I can smell it. It just one of those little things that helps life go a little better over here. OK
Right now I am collecting some rain water off the side of my hootch. (that's what we call t ent - made of ponchos snapped together). I am going to make some koolaid out of it. Mom sent me the kool aid. I forgot to tell her, so tell her she can send me some strawberry next time. I think I like that kind of koolaid.
I hate to ask you to do this but could you call Brenda (788-7090 Little and ask her why she hasn't wrote me yet or has she wrote me and I haven't gotten the letter yet. I would appreciate it very much.
I think if I have enough time today, I will write Danny. Thank you for sending his address to me.
Well I can't think of anything else to tell you so write real soon.
Love ya, CC
